The Unicode Consortium has released version 2017-12-12 of the Unicode Ideographic Variation Database. The latest version registers the new KRName collection and the first 36 sequences in that collection, four additional sequences in the registered Adobe-Japan1 collection, and 674 additional sequences in the registered Moji_Joho collection.

Common Sense Advisory, Inc., an independent market research firm specializing in the language service industry, has published "Website Language Churn: 2016–2017." The report examines churn, assessing the likelihood that prominent websites added or dropped any of 171 languages that CSA Research tracked across 2,648 brand sites between 2016 and 2017.

Language Pair Demand and Supply: 2017" provides guidance on current and evolving demand for the language pairs most frequently cited as the fastest growing or experiencing the greatest price pressure.
