Common Sense Advisory, an independent market research firm specializing in the language service industry, has published a report on the revenue composition of 36 verticals for language service providers globally and in nine regions of the world: Africa, Asia, Europe (Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western), Latin America and the Caribbean, North America and Oceania. For each region, the report lists the top 10 verticals and the total value in US dollars for each. The detailed figures provided for each market refer to the revenue for all language services, which includes offerings such as localization, subtitling, transcreation and translation technology.

E.2. Disaster Risk Reduction Translate-a-Thon

Kilgray Translation Technologies and Translators without Borders have collaborated to hold the Disaster Risk Reduction Translate-a-Thon, a transcontinental charity translation project to translate critical disaster risk reduction information from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies into as many languages as possible.

The Translate-a-thon will take place at the 54th Annual ATA Conference in San Antonio (6–9 November), and simultaneously at tcworld in Wiesbaden (6–8 November). Volunteers who cannot attend either of the events may contribute online.
