MA in International Translation Project Management

Universidad Europea (Madrid, Spain) This program provides interdisciplinary training in the different areas of translation project management, with a strong emphasis on case studies and internships.

Teaching modules:

  • Translation project management (online learning, in partnership with The Localization Institute): globalization and translation companies, processes in translation project management, integration management, translation project scope, time, cost and quality management, human resources, communication management, risk management and acquisitions in a translation project.

  • Translation as an international business: international markets in the translation industry, business models in the translation industry, funding international translation projects, international call for tenders for major translation projects and negotiation techniques for international communication.

  • Tools, assets and workflow: Multilingual content management and terminology management

  • Translation case studies: management of international translation teams, criteria for effectiveness in translation project management, definition and implementation of collaborative teams, crowdsourcing in translation, platforms for collaborative translation and design of workflows for incorporating machine translation into the translation processes.

Study mode: Blended learning.

  • Online from November 2014 to February 2015

  • Campus-based from February to June 2015

  • Internship, from June to July 2015, completed at the premises of the Master’s partner companies. Internships are required for the professional path of study.

  • Master’s dissertation, from July to September 2015

The main language of the course is English. Registration is now open for the academic year 2014-2015.
