C.2. Digital Corpus of the European Parliament

The European Language Resources Association (ELRA) has added a new digital corpus of the European Parliament comprised of a variety of document types, from press releases to session and legislative documents related to the European Parliament's activities and bodies.

ELRA has also added the deL1L2IM corpus composed of 72 dialogues. The interactions have undergone linguistic analysis.

C.3. Building sustainable funding models, scenarios for translation automation

Common Sense Advisory, Inc., an independent market research firm specializing in the language service industry, conducted interviews with managers and directors responsible for translation and localization budgets at 37 global companies in 10 industries in eight countries. The results are published in the report "Take Command of Your Translation Budget" and show that localization managers must use a variety of budgeting and alliance building techniques to be successful with their funding strategy.

Common Sense also explored scenarios for translation automation in a continuum from reactive to tailored to fully architected systems. Based on interviews with technology managers and executives at 15 enterprises, "Enterprise Translation Automation" offers numerous user cases and specific recommendations about what companies can do to automate translation and localization workflow.
