SYSTRAN technology available in Seiko's hand-held translators

SYSTRAN Software Inc. (SSI), a company that has been developing patented translation technology for the US intelligence community and multinational corporations for almost 30 years, and SEIKO Instruments Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic hand-held consumer linguistic products, have signed an agreement that will integrate SYSTRAN morphology, including linguistic data and software, into SEIKO's Translator Collection. ”This is the first time SYSTRAN's powerful technology will be available to the average consumer,” said Larry Miller, general manager of SEIKO Instruments, U.S., Inc.

Denis Gachot, president of SSI, said, ”These pocket-size translators will be excellent travel companions for tourists, and they will meet the more demanding needs of business travelers, foreign language students and people struggling to function in the United States while they learn English.”
