KTC Korea office established

Korean Technical Communication announced that a KTC Korea office is being established to facilitate large projects for in-country translations. The Korean office allows KTC to lower its price to be comparable to freelance translators. Most translation now starts at $0.15/word for even some technical translations.

KTC has also expanded and moved to a new location in the heart of the Silicon Valley. KTC's services include: translation between English and Korean; full desktop publishing to high resolution ouput; software internationalization and localization; linguistic and functional QA of software; Web site localization and maintenance; and technical interpreting.

KTC changes name and adds languages

After seven years in business, Korean Technical Communications (KTC) is changing its name and is expanding services to Chinese and Japanese in addition to the current Korean services. The new name is Transcend Languages, Inc. Services offered in all three languages include translation, software localization, desktop publishing and Web site localization services. A new film imagesetter has been added to allow film output service from clients' downloadable postscript files.

KTC implements TRADOS Workbench and MultiTerm 95 Plus

Korean Technical Communications has completed full implementation of TRADOS Workbench and MultiTerm 95 Plus for Korean translation. TRADOS Workbench is a translation memory database software with fuzzy matching and active terminology recognition, and MultiTerm 95 Plus is a terminology management system that integrates with TRADOS Workbench. The new software allows multiple users to work on the same project while maintaining consistency, accuracy and a high level of processing speed. KTC provides integrated Korean translation, software localization, desktop publishing and Web site localization services.

KTC Korea office established

Korean Technical Communications (KTC) has opened an office in Korea. KTC Korea's function is to facilitate translation, review, desktop publishing, prepress, localization, engineering and interpreting. KTC's corporate office in California will concentrate on management, QA implementation and communication with US and foreign clients. KTC now directly competes with other translation companies in Korea, resulting in price reductions.
