Equipe to produce EUROMAP
Oct 01, 1996
EUROMAP (European Opportunity Mapping) is conducting a European Union-wide review and analysis of language engineering activity and marketplace requirements. The project is designed to help overcome the hurdles that face language engineering research in Europe and that slow the transfer of language technologies to the market.
The project is implemented along two major lines of actions. Fieldwork research will collect and assess information on relevant national research strands, public programs, and business trends. In parallel, an awareness and dissemination campaign will be carried out in each member state, to foster the development of constituencies for language engineering.
At its conclusion, a report will be produced showing how best to promote language engineering technology transfer, drawing a map of opportunities for trans-national collaboration, and suggesting directions for optimum investments.
The British firm Equipe Consortium Ltd. is subcontracted to manage the project.
