Library of diacritical fonts
May 20, 1996
Black & White has released a diacritical font library in Type 1 and TrueType formats. This library consists of Roman fonts based on popular faces and contains a complete set of diacritical ligatures that could be used to type Sanskrit text in English.
These ligatures, which are automatically positioned above or below normal Roman characters, allow the user to depict phonetic present in Indian languages - like Sanskrit, Devanagari and Tamil - in English. Using these fonts, complex texts like shlokas can be written in English without any ambiguity about their phonetic pronunciation.
The library contains several fonts to suit individual requirements. Custom fonts can also be created for specific needs.
