DynEd introduces Dynamic Japanese interactive multimedia course

DynEd International has released Dynamic Japanese, a CD-ROM-based interactive multimedia software course for learning Japanese. Dynamic Japanese claims to be the first listening-based Japanese language course that systematically presents the structures and vocabulary necessary to acquire the Japanese language. It combines both dialogues and grammar-based patterns in a sequenced approach that recycles structures and vocabulary, giving the serious learner a strong foundation in spoken Japanese. Dynamic Japanese automatically tracks and assesses how the student is doing and adjusts the amount and variety of language presented accordingly.

Dynamic Japanese, aimed at the absolute beginner, provides about 50 hours of intensive study, with the inclusion of sound, full-color graphics, a glossary, spoken translation, and text support. Japanese characters (hiragana, katakana, and kanji) are gradually introduced through the course. Dynamic Japanese runs on both Multimedia PC and Macintosh platforms and sells for $350. Intermediate level versions of Dynamic Japanese are planned for early 1995.
