ELRA adds resources

The European Language Resources Association (ELRA) has added an ETAPE Evaluation Package consisting of radio and TV data, selected to include mostly nonplanned speech and a reasonable proportion of multiple speaker data. Other additions include a Danish Propbank, Bulgarian and English GlobalPhone entries and the FAME! Speech Corpus.

The European Language Resources Association (ELRA) has added three new written corpora: English-Persian parallel corpus, Helsinki Corpus of Swahili and a corpus of Mongolian text. A new Persian desktop/microphone speech resource has also been added to its catalog.

The European Language Resources Association (ELRA) has added a Pashto phonetic lexicon of 21,560 words transcribed manually by a native Pashto (Yusufzai dialect) speaker to its catalog.
IULA adopts ISLRN initiative

The European Language Resources Association has announced that the Institute for Applied Linguistics (IULA) at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra has adopted the International Standard Language Resource Number (ISLRN) initiative. The ISLRN is a unique and universal identification schema for language resources. IULA has already submitted 107 language resources to the ISLRN.
