CJK and Arabic word databases


The CJK Dictionary Institute, Inc., has completed development on a series of large-scale word databases for CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and Arabic. These resources are useful for applications such as information retrieval and named entity recognition and morphological analysis for enhancing machine translation.

Gender codes added to Chinese Personal Names Database


Specializing in the compilation of CJK and Arabic lexical resources, The CJK Dictionary Institute, Inc., has added gender codes to its Chinese Personal Names Database which contains over one million names. The new field is in addition to other attributes such as pinyin readings and type (given name/surname).

Database of Foreign Names in Arabic


Specializing in the compilation of CJK and Arabic lexical resources, The CJK Dictionary Institute, Inc., has launched the Database of Foreign Names in Arabic (DAFNA), covering 250,000 names, their Arabic equivalents and Arabic script variants for each name, with each variant ranked by frequency of occurrence.

Chinese-English dictionary database


The CJK Dictionary Institute, Inc., has made available a Chinese-English bilingual, bidirectional dictionary database comprising general vocabulary, example sentences, high frequency technical terms and proper nouns. The dictionary is also available as an iOS application that runs on iPhones, iPads and iPod touches.

Database of Arabic Names expanded


Specializing in the compilation of CJK and Arabic lexical resources, The CJK Dictionary Institute, Inc. has announced a major expansion of its Database of Arabic Names (DAN), which is expected to reach over a million entries by March 2008. DAN covers Arabic personal names in both the Roman and Arabic scripts and includes numerous orthographic variants and other attributes such as web frequency, name type codes and normalized forms.
