ADAPT Localization Services, a provider of services tailored to the medical, life sciences, IT and telecommunications sectors, has acquired the operating business and personnel of Transline Documentaciones S.L., the Spanish subsidiary of the Transline Group.

ADAPT Localization receives ISO/DIS 17100 certification


ADAPT Localization Services, a provider of services tailored to the medical, life sciences, IT and telecommunications sectors, has been certified for ISO/DIS 17100:2013, a new international standard for translation companies. The norm is the successor of EN 15038 and establishes fundamental requirements for translation projects.

ADAPT manager passes away


ADAPT Localization Services has announced with deep regret that its business development manager, Gary Jaekel, died in Stockholm, Sweden, on November 24, 2004, after a long illness. Jaekel, a native of New Jersey, moved to Sweden after completing his studies at Boston University in the early 1970s. He joined Ericsson as a translator and subsequently became manager and CEO of Ericsson Language Services. He held several senior positions in the language industry before joining ADAPT in 2003. Jaekel was also a founding member, president and board member of the Swedish translator's association and played a prominent role in the development of the Swedish language technology industry.

transline Localization becomes ADAPT, expands services


Following a change in ownership resulting from a management buyout, transline Localization, a provider of full-scale translation and localization services, has changed its name and is now operating as ADAPT Localization Services. Michael Kemmann, founding managing director and previous co-owner, has acquired all company shares and will continue leading the firm's operations. There are no changes in the management or staff.

In addition to its translation, localization, software engineering and prepress services, ADAPT has added documentation authoring and information design to its range of offerings. Targeted especially at the company's diagnostic and medical clients who have expressed a strong interest in this service expansion, ADAPT now offers the full chain of tasks from documentation design through multilingual publication.

transline Localization expands in Sweden


transline Localization GmbH, a global supplier of localization and translation services headquartered in Bonn, Germany, has recently taken major steps to expand its Scandinavian branch office in Stockholm, Sweden. These include hiring Gary Jaekel as business development manager and moving to new offices. In doing so, transline Localization has strengthened its production center for localization into the Scandinavian languages, as well as adding new resources for the development of both its Scandinavian and global markets.

Jaekel, who has experience in the language industry from his years as manager of Ericsson Language Services as well as several senior management positions in other companies and industry organizations, will mainly be responsible for the Northern European markets, but will also participate in the company's global marketing activities.
