Our Story
MultiLingual was founded as a buyer’s guide in the late 1980s when the language industry was still small, unconnected, and ill-defined. From those humble beginnings, MultiLingual has grown into a multiplatform publisher with a global reach, reflecting the industry’s evolution along the way.

Seth Thomas Schneider begins self-publishing a list of computer products that support “foreign” languages. He prints the lists in his native Idaho and distributes them at events in California.
The list grows and evolves into a professionally printed catalog and then a buyer’s guide entitled MultiLingual Computing.
The buyer’s guide transitions to a magazine, also called MultiLingual Computing, which receives submissions from around the world. Schneider establishes an office in Idaho and hires a small staff.
Schneider passes the publisher reins to Donna Parrish.
The magazine rebrands to simply MultiLingual.
MultiLingual faces financial hardship and goes out of print, becoming digital-only. Nimdzi Insights buys and revives the company, now called MultiLingual Media. Marjolein Groot Nibbelink becomes CEO.
MultiLingual magazine goes back to print and moves from bimonthly to monthly publication.
Eddie Arrieta becomes CEO of MultiLingual Media. The Idaho office closes, and the company goes fully remote.
