Agustina Pioli

Partner and chief sales officer at Latamways

Dedication, perseverance, and surrounding myself with the right people have made a difference in my 20-year journey. After graduating as a certified translator in Argentina and a life changing exchange program in the United States, I took my first steps as a professional translator. I then grew into other roles — first, reviewer and then later, I became a project manager at a local translation agency. It took three years for me to realize I was ready for something bigger. So, an old university friend of mine joined me in co-founding our own company in 2005. Now, you’re more likely to know that company as Latamways — we merged with another local company here in Argentina about six years ago.

ACCOLADES

I met Agustina abroad and she is easily one of the most gregarious, benevolent humans I have ever met. She embodies the qualities of a strong woman and does her best to lift up everyone around her.

Agustina is a tireless, sensitive, and empathetic professional, always attentive to everyone’s needs.

Agustina it’s a great leader, we as a team can count on her when we need some prompt solutions

Being an entrepreneur means you must do whatever it takes to succeed. If that means wearing all sorts of different (metaphorical) hats until you find one that makes you feel great, so be it. Over the years, I’ve tried on a lot of hats — and taken off nearly as many, but I never gave up. With every failure in my career, I kept pushing forward, figuring out the role that was best for me.

I started my volunteering experience with Translated in Argentina (TINA) where I eventually became President and led the organization for two terms. Leading TINA was a huge challenge, especially during the pandemic. Despite the hardships, TINA gave a voice to all local industry stakeholders alike, was well-represented at our main industry events, got the visibility it deserved, and provided hundreds of valuable training opportunities to our members. I stepped down only a few months ago but I’m still an active member while I continue to volunteer with the Marketing Program at Women in Localization. Volunteering has gifted me with amazing friends and has definitely shaped me as a person.

Being featured in MultiLingual is a breath of fresh air that inspires me to keep going. I hope I can inspire other women to continue to work hard and dream big. I’m honored to receive this recognition for my commitment and dedication to this profession — it truly serves as evidence that all of my efforts are appreciated. I’ll be forever grateful for such an honor.

Agustina represents resilience, hard work, warmth, and pure love. Originally from Jujuy, Argentina, she’s traveled the world, studied abroad, started her own company at a young age, went through a merger, volunteered with Women in Localization and Translated in Argentina (TINA), among others. She led TINA as president for three years, positioning the association as the leader in the region. Whatever it is that you throw at Agus, she will take it and make it happen. At Latamways, she is the person responsible for driving the ISO certification process, and for creating the Talents Department (from scratch). Despite her hard past couple of years on a personal level, she remains connected to her friends, colleagues, and job, while taking care of her daughter and herself. Agus is a strong single mom, a vibrant and goal-oriented woman who deserves this recognition.
