Africa's vast, colorful, and mysterious mother continent tends to be misunderstood. I wouldn’t be the first or last inhabitant to be asked by somebody who has never been to Africa if I live in a mud hut and how often a lion walks past my front door, and this is just a sample of the many damaging stereotypes that pervade common perceptions of the continent.
