Business and Practice – these are the two overarching themes at BP23 Translation Conference, to be held in Utrecht (Netherlands) and online on 8-10 May 2023.
The most popular training and networking event in Europe that targets specifically freelance translators has been around since 2014. After the first few years in Central Europe, recent locations included Bologna, Lisbon, and now Utrecht, making this our 10th annual conference.
This year’s topics include finding transcreation clients, using AI tools for subtitling, efficient pricing and negotiation techniques, automating repetitive tasks, trade fairs, MTPE 101, training the client, and many more. In addition to the conference sessions, there will be 3 workshops as well.
A ‘Bonding Prequel’ (another ‘BP’) will take place on 18-19 April online, with 3 sessions, 1 workshop, and some networking sessions.
We are counting on over 250 attendees in Utrecht and 150 online, offering unique learning and networking opportunities for all attendees. Almost 50 countries are represented already.
This year’s conference experience will be enhanced by an intuitive event app, an audience engagement tool, and all recordings will also be available.
BP Translation Conferences are fully independent, not associated with any software vendor, translators’ association, or government body. In fact, most organizational work is carried out by a single Budapest-based freelance translator, Csaba Bán.
