Colorado language professionals announce merger into Colorado Interpreters & Translators Association

Denver, CO, January 3, 2023: The Boards of Directors of the Colorado Translators Association  (CTA) and the Colorado Association of Professional Interpreters (CAPI) announce the merger of  their respective associations under a new name, the Colorado Interpreters & Translators Association (CITA), effective Jan. 1, 2023. 

CITA is an association, based in the Denver metro area, serving interpreters and translators  throughout Colorado and the Western region of the United States. With nearly 200 members,  the organization maintains online directories of translation and interpretation professionals.  The association also provides professional development and networking opportunities for its  individual members as well as non-members. 

CAPI was organized in 1996, and for 25+ years has served members providing oral  interpretation services to legal, educational, medical, and other settings. 

CTA has existed) since the late 1970s to primarily serve translators working with the  written word. The organization was formally reorganized in the early 2000s, becoming  a regional Chapter of the American Translators Association in 2012.
