XTM Cloud 13.1: The Pathfinder Release –  Communication Reinvented

XTM International is delighted to announce the launch of its new Query Management Module, along with other new features, available today in XTM Cloud 13.1.This latest version makes project and query management seamless and efficient, saving linguists and project managers time and effort.

  • XTM Cloud’s new Query Management Module enables linguists, LSPs and PMs to communicate easily within XTM Cloud, without needing to use emails or other applications outside of XTM Cloud.
  • DeepL integration has been strengthened to take full advantage of DeepL’s powerful latest features, supporting glossaries to provide the right terms, and formality to provide the right tone.

Seamless Communication within XTM Cloud

XTM Cloud’s brand new Query Management Module enables users to create and manage queries directly within XTM Cloud, streamlining communication and making it simpler and faster for linguists to ask questions or request additional information. This way, queries can be resolved as fast as possible, avoiding rework, mistranslations and additional costs.

Product Manager at XTM International Sara Basile is thrilled about the introduction of this new feature, as she understands the significant changes it will bring for users:

“XTM Cloud users value ways to centralize their query management, as linguists and project managers receive and submit hundreds of emails or messages across different applications which sometimes get lost. It was clear to us that being able to manage queries directly where the translators and project managers work is essential. Leveraging feedback submitted directly through our Wish List (where users can request and vote for features) and during a three month closed beta program, we designed a functionality that makes it easy for translation requesters, vendors and linguists to submit and discuss queries from within XTM Cloud.”

Queries can be opened quickly and easily within XTM Workbench, and managed seamlessly using a brand-new interface which enables users to access their entire chat history, apply filters to find the right one, add or remove participants, or even change the chat priority level and status. When a status is changed to ‘closed’, chats are automatically grayed out to make it easy to focus only on relevant ones.

XTM International CEO Bob Willans is proud of this accomplishment:

“XTM Cloud’s new Query Management Module is a perfect illustration of our drive to put our users at the heart of what we do, taking their requests into account to significantly improve their localization process. We’ve made a point of ensuring the new Query Management Module delivers exactly what our users asked for, making it easy for them to deal with any queries within the platform itself. It gives users access to all the information they need at the tip of their fingers.

Advanced DeepL Functionality for Accurate Localization

XTM International is continuing its efforts to support enhanced MT functionality. In XTM Cloud 13.0, they enhanced their partnership with SYSTRAN, by introducing AI-enhanced TM. Now they are now strengthening their DeepL integrations, enabling users to take full advantage of the MT’s powerful features, with glossaries and formality support.

By using glossaries, the MT engine is able to find and use the right terms, providing linguists with terms that do not require any cross-check or post-edit. With formality support, project managers now have the flexibility to get more from their MT engine: they can decide whether the translation provided should use formal or informal tone, getting matches in-line with their writing style and let DeepL do the rest.

Sara Basile explains how key these two additions are for users:

“The formality setting enables XTM users to capture the nuance of communication, providing a straight-forward way to deliver high-quality, on-brand content. Indeed, using the DeepL formality feature, users can deliver communication at exactly the right level of formality. Plus, the new glossaries option creates a seamless experience for linguists who won’t have to double check that the right terminology is used, while cutting turnaround times as their productivity will automatically increase. For instance, receiving 100 correct words right away within a 500 words projects can result in 20% increased productivity”

Other great features are being introduced in XTM Cloud 13.1, such as REST API enhancements, improved reporting and support for additional languages.
