rom April 12–14, the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) welcomed the language services community to Berlin, Germany, for the inaugural WorldReady Conference, an evolution of the association’s flagship event designed to meet a
rapidly changing industry moment. Bringing together hundreds of professionals over three days, WorldReady Berlin created a space for learning, human connection, and forward-looking dialogue on multilingual communication in the artificial intelligence (AI) era.

This year’s program introduced six thematic tracks, including TechReady, MarketReady, RiskReady, and PeopleReady, reflecting a broader view of the language industry’s role in global business. Sessions and workshops highlighted both technological innovation and the strategic importance of language and localization. Speakers challenged the idea that incremental improvement alone is sufficient to evolve. There was a growing consensus that sustainable growth demands strategic reinvention, and the WorldReady Berlin audience was there for it.
A defining takeaway from Berlin was a noticeable shift in the industry’s relationship with AI. Conversations moved beyond speculation toward practical application, with attendees sharing real-world examples of implementation, governance, and measurable impact. Rather than focusing on tools alone, participants explored how localization teams are guiding enterprise AI adoption, balancing experimentation with structure and risk management.
At the same time, the human dimension remained central. Through sessions and informal discussions, participants reinforced the importance of human expertise in ensuring quality, cultural relevance, and ethical deployment of technology. The message was clear: The value of human insight is only increasing.
GALA’s hallmark sense of community was in full force. From deep-dive workshops to networking events and social gatherings, WorldReady Berlin fostered meaningful connections among peers, partners, and new voices in the field. And the energy was unmistakable: This is a community ready to move forward.

GALA designed WorldReady Berlin to deliver actionable intelligence alongside genuine community, and the response from attendees confirmed it delivered on both. We’re already looking ahead and saving the date for WorldReady Lisbon (April 11–13, 2027). See you there!
