here’s no shortage of talk about humanity in language work these days. With artificial intelligence (AI) redefining how translation, localization, and interpretation are distributed and executed, industry professionals point to the importance of preserving the human element in their work. Whether it be ensuring reliability and accuracy in high-risk fields like healthcare, law, and government communications; preserving brand voice in critical marketing materials; or ensuring cultural sensitivity and tonal consistency in creative works like movies, books, and video games, the emerging consensus is that there’s no replacing the human in the loop.
The July issue of MultiLingual magazine focuses on the many ways that language workers are introducing more humanity into their work and lives.
