Continuing to build on its work with generative language models, Druide informatique is adding three new ways users can reformulate their writing with artificial intelligence (AI). Now users of Antidote Web can get suggestions specifically aimed at breaking up very long sentences, transforming the passive voice into the active and avoiding impersonal constructions.
Six months ago to the day, Druide made its foray into generative AI with the launch of Antidote’s Reformulation feature. Today the company is expanding its offering with three new, targeted ways to restyle sentences using Reformulation: by splitting up long sentences, by making passive sentences active and by inverting impersonal constructions.
Long sentences can be clumsy and difficult to read; dividing the information into smaller pieces makes it easier to digest. The active voice makes your writing more dynamic: “Antidote corrected my text” is more direct than the passive form “My text was corrected by Antidote”. Similarly, “Users will certainly love these new features” is livelier than the impersonal construction “It is certain that users will love these new features”. Druide’s linguists have trained Antidote’s reformulation engine to deal with these three stylistic faux pas specifically. Already detected by the corrector, these issues can now be resolved by prompting the relevant Reformulation and inserting the results directly into the text.
“The original Reformulation feature is already popular with our customers, but it’s only the beginning of a whole series of surprises,” says Éric Brunelle, President of Druide and Lead Designer of Antidote. “The more specialized functionality we’re rolling out today provides three more examples of the little wonders made possible by our practical, efficient and controlled application of generative AI.”
Antidote Web includes the targeted Reformulation features at no extra cost as part of a public beta-testing program. Druide is inviting all Antidote+ and Antidote Web users to make the most of these new options and to share their feedback.
