This recognition underscores Allen’s dedication to empowering remote interpreters and shaping the future of the interpreting industry.

Allen’s journey began as a community interpreter, witnessing firsthand the inequities and challenges faced by interpreters and immigrants needing their services. This ignited a passion for advocacy and education, driving her to champion better working conditions, professional development opportunities, and the ethical integration of technology, like AI, in interpreting.

Thirty-four individuals were named to the prestigious “Influencers Driving the Language Industry” list in MultiLingual magazine’s special edition. Allen was among a few professionals from the interpretation field, solidifying her position as a leading voice for interpreting in the language industry. This recognition reflects a growing awareness of interpreting, a smaller and underrepresented segment of language services.

Allen is a founding member of the SAFE-AI in interpreting task force and actively contributes to advocacy efforts to monitor and shape legislation that impacts interpreter well-being and expanded language access. Additionally, she collaborates with Boostlingo’s partners to create targeted training resources for interpreters using the platform.

It’s no surprise that Allen’s expertise and commitment have also brought a recent promotion within Boostlingo. Allen has been promoted to Director of Language Industry Learning, where she will leverage her expertise in various areas, including remote interpreting training resources and best practices, advocacy, and responsible AI integration.
