Reports of service outages across several Lionbridge platforms have kept the language service provider’s (LSP) engineers busy over the past week.
First identified on July 8, the outages left Lionbridge customers puzzling through the situation over the subsequent week. A major provider of language services, Lionbridge platforms cover verticals like life sciences, finance, games, technology, legal services, travel and hospitality, and more.
“I haven’t been able to send any emails to PMs or access any of the platforms and partner portals from Lionbridge since yesterday morning,” one user posted on Reddit. “Their servers seem to be down, but I couldn’t find any info online about this. Anyone experiencing this as well?”
Lionbridge addressed the issues in a website post, saying their engineers were working on addressing the issues as soon as possible. According to the post, the following platforms have been affected by the service outages: Over-The-Phone Interpretation, Lionbridge Community Xchange (LCX), TMS, Cloud Translation Environment (CTE), Translation Workspace (TW), PATS, and Lionbridge Games Technology.
“We are currently experiencing interruptions across several Lionbridge applications that our Community Partners use for their day-to-day work,” the post reads. “The issues were first identified on July 8, 2022. Since then, our engineers have been working diligently to bring our systems back online in a careful, thoughtful, and secure manner.”
The post went on to detail steps Lionbridge was taking to communicate its repair work with its users. On July 13, the Lionbridge team added the status of their applications onto their dashboard to keep users up to speed, with multiple updates per day covering the latest information.
“To minimize further disruptions, we have implemented alternative production solutions for many projects,” the post reads. “If you have any additional questions, please reach out to your Project Manager or send an email to community.management@lionbridge.com.”
