What began as a dream at the age of 10 to become a translator has flourished into a fulfilling 20-year career in the localization industry, a journey that has seen me evolve from a freelance translator to the CEO of a translation agency.
This milestone, celebrated in 2024, is not just a professional achievement but a testament to my dedication and passion for this industry. The transition from playing professional basketball to navigating the complexities of localization has been a journey filled with invaluable lessons in discipline, teamwork, and resilience. These attributes have been the cornerstone of my career, teaching me the importance of adaptability, collaboration, and the strength found in seeking help.
My love for helping others has always been a guiding principle, both in my professional and personal endeavors. I take immense pride in being reelected for a second term on the ELIA Board of Directors and in spearheading the Exchange initiative. My role as an ambassador for various events and initiatives, particularly LocInPink, further underscores my commitment to the industry.
As I reflect on these accomplishments, I am filled with gratitude for the guidance and inspiration from mentors, colleagues, and the broader localization community. Their support has been instrumental in my journey from a freelancer to a leader.
Being included in MultiLingual magazine symbolizes not just my growth but also the collective spirit of a community that thrives on shared knowledge, mutual support, and bridging linguistic and cultural divides.
