Welocalize, a provider of AI-enabled translation and multilingual content solutions, announced that its patent-pending AILQA has been selected as the “Natural Language Recognition Solution of the Year” in the 8th annual AI Breakthrough Awards program. The awards are conducted by AI Breakthrough, a market intelligence organization recognizing technologies and companies in the global AI space.

AILQA is an AI-led linguistic quality assurance (LQA) platform designed for use by global organizations. Built on generative AI, the solution automates scalable quality evaluations for multilingual content.

The platform uses large language models (LLMs) to identify translation errors using the industry-standard MQM (Multidimensional Quality Metrics) typology. It applies multi-step chain-of-thought prompting and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), referencing client-reviewed translations to align with preferred tone, style, and terminology. Errors identified by the system are passed to human linguists for validation, supporting continuous feedback and improvement.

AILQA is designed to prioritize human reviewers’ attention on segments likely to contain errors, reducing the time spent reading accurate translations. By automating broader document-level analysis, it aims to overcome traditional sampling limitations and improve review efficiency. AILQA is part of Opal Enable, Welocalize’s product suite that also includes AIQE (quality estimation) and AIPE (post-editing).
