ATC announces winners of annual Language Industry Awards

The Association of Translation Companies (ATC) announced the winners of its annual Language Industry Awards on Thursday, celebrating high-achieving language service providers (LSPs) and their workers.

This year, the awards gala took place Sept. 22, with a round-up of awards including titles such as “Company of the Year,” “Translator of the Year,” “Project Management Team of the Year,” and more. Comtec Translations took home the award for “Company of the Year,” with the judges praising the company’s extensive investment in training and efforts to lighten the load of visa complications for its workers in the post-Brexit era.

“Comtec Translations has had an excellent year gaining B Corp Certification, and showcasing significant growth in terms of revenue, clients, and team size,” the judges wrote in their notes on the Warwickshire-based LSP’s performance this year. “Comtec Translations recognises that the team is their greatest asset.”

The judges also commended Atlas Translations — which previously held a two-year streak as the ATC’s Company of the Year in 2020 and 2021 — in the “Company of the Year” category. Though the company did not bring home the “Company of the Year” award this year, Atlas manager Jim Hearns was named “Project Manager of the Year” alongside Dialogue Language Services’ Dan Thomas. Atlas was also commended in the “Project Management Team of the Year” category as well, with the award ultimately going to Peak Translations.

Dialogue Language Services also earned the “New Member of the Year” award, with the judges commending the Oxford-based LSP for its “dedicated, client-centric, solution-based approach, evident in client testimonials and high client retention.”

“We couldn’t be prouder of our team and everything we have achieved,” Dialogue Language Services wrote in a Linkedin post shared shortly after the awards were announced. “Here’s to many more years of dedicated, client-centric service!”

The remaining awards were given to the following individuals and companies:

  • Translator of the Year: Jacek Blaszczyk, a freelance Polish-English translator nominated by Empower Translate (Global)
  • Innovator of the Year: Nicola Pegoraro, Locaria
  • Supplier of the Year: MD Online
