Joining Forces for Sustainability: The Climate Change Language Industry Survey 2024

MultiLingual Media and CSA Research have teamed up with a handful of other organizations in the industry to conduct a survey aimed at assessing the industry’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

The Climate Change Language Industry Survey 2024 seeks to understand current practices, knowledge, and behaviors related to sustainability efforts. Using the results of the survey, stakeholders will establish baselines on attitudes and actions related to climate change and determine our industry’s role (if any) in promoting sustainability practices in business.

The consortium includes the following members, each contributing to this collaborative effort by providing insight, perspectives, expertise, and support to the initiative:

  • CSA Research: Don DePalma, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer. CSA Research designed the survey with input from other committee members.
  • Globalization and Localization Association (GALA): Allison Ferch, Executive Director
  • MultiLingual Media: CEO Marjolein Groot Nibbelink, MultiLingual Media, publisher of MultiLingual magazine
  • Language Transactions: Michael Klinger, Founder and CEO
  • Association of Language Companies (ALC): Sultan Ghaznawi, ALC Director, President of Hybrid Lynx

The survey will gather data on various aspects of sustainability practices, including awareness, actions, and future commitments. Participants are encouraged to provide candid feedback to help inform future strategies and initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability within the language industry. An initial version of the survey findings will be compiled and analyzed for publication in April’s issue of MultiLingual magazine, catalyzing further discussions, initiatives, and best practices within the language industry.
