MultiLingual Announces New Summer Series

In-person conferences have all but disappeared. LocWorldWide and other virtual events are filling in the gaps, and now MultiLingual is adding free events to its company-neutral offerings.

Summer in the localization industry is typically conference season — but this year, as the entire world knows by now, has been different. LocWorld has gotten particularly ambitious with its online platform, and is starting today at 11 am Central European Summer Time with the first ever LocWorldWide. LocWorld has attempted to translate many of its popular features to the virtual world, such as the Process Innovation Challenge, keynote addresses, and a Solutions Square space for vendors.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a free, company-neutral event, MultiLingual just announced its Summer Series: every Thursday in August, a panel of experts will talk about different topics — and registration is open to the public. Panelists will discuss their respective topic for 90 minutes, and then the audience will have the option to ask questions and participate in the discussion for another 30 minutes.

The Summer Series will be hosted by KUDO, a New York-headquartered, cloud-based virtual interpreting platform. The panel will be held in English, and interpretation into French, Spanish, and Chinese will be available. The topics, dates, and panelists are:

August 6: Let’s Talk About Machine Translation

Kirti Vashee hosts Chris Wendt of Microsoft, Alon Lavie of Unbabel, and Joern Wuebker of LILT.

August 13: Let’s Talk About Diversification
