R&A Translators, a specialist in technical and intellectual property translation with offices in Brazil and Portugal, has announced the acquisition of Viva Translations, a Portuguese company headquartered in Lisbon with more than 20 years of experience in localization and translation for European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese.
This acquisition represents a decisive step in R&A’s growth strategy, as the company pursues its vision of becoming the leading translation reference in Latin America and ranking among the top 20 translation companies in Europe.
Following this acquisition, the group now comprises of three brands: R&A Translators, Inside Language Solutions, and Viva Translations.
R&A Translators is one of the most recognized translation companies in Latin America. The company is ranked as the 2nd largest translation company in Brazil by Nimdzi Insights, one of the world’s leading language industry research firms, and has consecutively ranked among the top 10 translation companies in Latin America by CSA Research, climbing from 9th place in 2022 to 7th place in 2024. The company employs 35 full-time professionals across two offices in Brazil and Portugal.

With this acquisition, R&A formally enters the localization segment, a fast-growing global market in which Viva Translations has a proven track record and strong international recognition. This new capability significantly expands R&A’s service portfolio, serving clients who require not only translation, but the complete cultural adaptation of their content for Portuguese-language markets.
The transaction includes the integration of 13 new team members, Portuguese and Brazilian professionals, into R&A, expanding the company’s operational capacity and deepening its expertise in localization, project management, and quality assurance.
