ELIA Announces Its New 2025 Board of Directors

Brussels, June 25, 2025The European Language Industry Association (ELIA) has officially announced the results of its 2025 Board of Directors election. Following a weekend of voting by full members, the new board is poised to lead the organization into its next chapter, with a renewed focus on collaboration, innovation, and industry advocacy.

Voting closed on June 23, and today, ELIA revealed the four elected directors who will guide the association’s activities for the coming term.

The newly elected board members are: Maii Abdel-Wahab, Tony D’Angelo, Aleksandrina Karabasheva, and Nenad Andricsek (re-elected).

Together, they bring decades of combined expertise in localization, business development, operations, and industry leadership. Their vision is centered on strengthening ELIA’s value to members, fostering inclusive growth, and addressing the evolving needs of the language services community.

The elected Directors will officially take their seats on the ELIA Board on 21 September 2025, during ELIAND 2025 in Budapest, joining continuing Board Members Anu Carnegie-Brown, Alina Birsan and Milena Spelta Parenti.

The election process began with a call for votes on June 21, shared via email with all full members of ELIA. As a member-driven association, ELIA emphasizes transparent governance and active participation from its community of language service providers across Europe and beyond.

ELIA also extends its thanks to Nuria Castro Gay, Alp Dilgen and Daniel Sebesta for stepping up and running for the Board. Their dedication and willingness to contribute reflect the spirit of the community and help shape the future of the association.

The organization also expresses its appreciation to outgoing Board Members Dorothy Scerri, Indrė Lelevičienė and Diego Cresceri for their years of service and commitment to ELIA.
