KTLC, short for Translation and Localization Conference + Konferencja Tłumaczy, has become a staple event for the translation and localization industry. Attendees consistently praise its strong organization and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the organizers’ efforts to create a conference for everyone — from freelancers and LSPs of all sizes to think tanks, corporations, and sister professions like technical writers and copywriters.
This year was no exception. KTLC took place fully online from September 26-28, with an in-person component in Warsaw on September 28. To connect online and onsite attendees, the locally developed platform Gridaly enabled seamless engagement, offering live chat, forum discussions, and real-time presentations. Currently, the platform hosts recordings of the entire conference, accessible to all attendees. Recordings are also available for purchase at ktlc.info for those who missed the event.
With over 30 speakers from around the world, KTLC 2024 offered diverse insights and networking opportunities. Here are some highlights from those who attended:
- “The best part of KTLC2024 was meeting new people and learning about their work. I also found the networking to be very valuable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in networking.”
- “The online workshop with Gosia Głowacka on When Clients Drive You Nuts was particularly insightful. Her practical advice and relatable anecdotes provided valuable strategies for handling challenging clients and maintaining a positive work environment.”
- “Teresa Toronjo gave us food for thought with her talk on the localization audit within Malt. The audit provided insights to automate processes, implement changes, and guide company operations. She stressed the importance of reviewing results quarterly to ensure ongoing relevance and usefulness.”
