Phrase Launches Platform Innovations to Take AI From Playground to Production

0

Phrase, a global leader in AI-led language technology, has announced a major platform update designed to help enterprises embed generative AI across global content operations. The release introduces an industry-first quality evaluation capability, centralized Style Guides, expanded ecosystem integrations, a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for AI connectivity, and more advanced controls for Phrase Studio.

Scaling AI across customer-facing content requires structured oversight, brand controls, and configurable quality management. These new capabilities embed governance, context, and connectivity directly into AI workflows, enabling production-grade deployment at scale.

“Almost every customer I speak to has the same challenge. AI prototypes work but moving them into production across 40 or 50 markets with proper quality and consistency controls is a completely different proposition,” says Georg Ell, CEO of Phrase. “These platform updates give organizations the quality controls, brand context, and ecosystem access they need to run AI in production, not just test it. For any organization looking for a concrete win with AI, this is it.”

Quality evaluation designed for genAI

At the core of this release is Quality Profiles, an industry-first evaluation capability that combines fully customizable thresholds with automated quality checks. Enterprises can now define “fit-for-purpose” criteria by language, content type, business unit, or brand. Automated AI-driven checks approve content that meets predefined standards and escalate only flagged segments for human review.

By combining automation with granular control, organizations can reduce reliance on human review, lower post-editing costs, and accelerate delivery while managing risk at scale.

Global brand consistency with style guides

Phrase also introduces centralized Style Guides to the platform, transforming static brand documents into actionable assets that provide context for both AI systems and human linguists. Style Guides inform the AI Translation Agent and MT optimization workflows while surfacing guidance directly in the editor.

This creates a unified blueprint for brand consistency across global markets and eliminates the guesswork that often leads to costly rework.

Expanding the Phrase ecosystem

To support complex enterprise environments, Phrase is adding three new connectors that further open the ecosystem. These new integrations allow customers to connect their preferred AI and quality solutions directly into Phrase.

Through Intento, enterprises can aggregate and optimize multiple machine translation engines within Phrase workflows. With Welocalize Opal, customers can enable OPAL’s agentic capabilities for automated post-editing and quality evaluation inside Phrase, reducing manual intervention while maintaining control. TAUS Epic customers can integrate TAUS metrics and automated post-editing directly in Phrase.

The new Phrase Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server allows enterprises to connect internally developed AI agents and proprietary systems. LLM-based tools can securely access translation memories, update keys, and manage projects without custom API development, ensuring built and bought technologies operate within one governed environment.

This approach enables organizations to unify third-party technologies and in-house systems within a single governed platform that orchestrates across AI engines, quality systems, and content workflows throughout the enterprise.

Additional enterprise integrations and enhancements include:

  • Salesforce Service Cloud: Real-time, customized machine translation embedded directly into support conversations and workflow, enabling agents to respond in any language with a single click.
  • Figma: Enhanced design-led localization with preserved formatting, multi-language pulls, and improved performance for large design files.
  • Braze: A rebuilt integration that reduces manual email translation preparation by up to 98 percent, helping marketing teams scale multilingual campaigns efficiently.

Faster video subtitle production

Phrase Studio now supports scalable subtitle workflows through configurable Subtitle Profiles, real-time quality checks, and transparent segment-level review tracking. Teams can enforce styling and timing rules automatically, surface issues during editing, and increase global video output without introducing additional complexity.

Smart guidance for AI translation agent usage

Phrase is also introducing intelligent guidance to help teams determine when to use the AI Translation Agent versus standard machine translation. Personalized estimates of edited-word reduction and potential cost savings now appear directly within the Phrase Platform, helping organizations deploy AI to optimize efficiency and cost.

Together, these new capabilities continue to make Phrase the intelligent platform where organizations can connect, govern, and scale AI across all of their content, in every language. The enterprises that operationalize AI now will spend less, move faster, and win more customers.

How Human-AI Collaboration Will Define the Future of Multilingual Events

0

With neural machine translation (NMT) and advanced speech recognition models continuously improving, the quality gap between artificial intelligence (AI) and human translation is narrowing in certain contexts. Still, current AI-powered speech translation capabilities remain frequently ineffective for complex, nuanced content.

While advances in context-aware AI models and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) are showing promise, many AI speech translation tools still have limited contextual memory, which increases the risk of hallucinations and inaccuracies. Even with the expansion of such memory, consistency remains a challenge.

Fully accurate AI speech translation would require artificial general intelligence (AGI), which current AI technology — including large language models (LLMs) — does not have. The real-time nature of AI speech translation during events only intensifies complexity, especially for LLMs, which deliver best results on input that is complete and final; this is never the case with real-time human speech.

This does not mean that AI is not capable of accurate audio translations in situations where the context is straightforward or correctly determined by AI. In fact, for much of standardized business content, presentations with established terminology, or speeches with clear structure, AI translation quality can rival human performance. But for high-stakes, culturally sensitive, or highly technical events, human interpretation remains vital.

The Ideal Hybrid Intelligence Model

The collaboration of human staff and AI-powered interpretation ensures that the full message behind every event presentation is consistently delivered, without compromise. Such a model also enables real-time quality monitoring, where AI can flag potential issues for human review and humans can provide feedback that improves AI performance over time.

A truly multilingual event across a packed agenda should remain seamless throughout. Some interpretations should be handled by humans, while others can be covered by AI speech translation. As AI models evolve to better handle specialized terminology, cultural nuances, and speaker idiosyncrasies, the division of labor between humans and AI will become increasingly dynamic and optimized.

This approach not only leaves room for customization based on demand among the attendee base, but also — by trusting in a cloud-based remote simultaneous interpretation platform — enables the smooth integration of human interpreters and AI speech translation. This becomes a win-win scenario that delivers high-quality interpretation and live translation at scale, at a price point that doesn’t blow the budget.

Balancing Affordability and Inclusion

AI has given event organizers more choice and can deliver more language translation options for audience members and event attendees. For example, the cost-efficiency of AI enables organizations to offer multilingual access for smaller sessions and breakout rooms that previously wouldn’t justify the expense of human interpreters.

However, when evaluating AI-only platforms, event organizers should always test the AI speech translation and translated captions on content that is similar to the content of the planned event, as well as for longer periods of time — since many AI tools suffer from deterioration of quality over time or are not able to handle faster speech. Establishing clear quality benchmarks can help organizations ensure that expectations can be met before going live with the solution.

There is never a single solution that fits all events. Certain types of events, topics, or speakers may be more or less suitable for AI-based speech translation, and audience expectations from event to event can differ a lot. This, combined with the risk of spending missteps if a solution is found to be unsuitable, underscores the importance of trying before you buy.

The Road Ahead

The trajectory of AI development suggests that translation quality will continue to improve over the coming years, particularly as models gain better real-time processing capabilities and deeper understanding of context, tone, and cultural nuances. But until we reach the stage where AGI is realized and made readily available, the availability of human interpretation experts remains vital.

For the best results, determining where AI-powered speech translation is required and pairing that with experienced interpreters can go a long way to scaling inclusive events, while significantly reducing the costs of multilingual capabilities. As the technology matures, organizations that invest in hybrid approaches today will be positioned to adapt and optimize their multilingual strategies for tomorrow.

XTM Introduces Multilingual Software Video Generation for Enterprise Teams

0
XTM

XTM International, a leading AI globalisation platform, has announced the launch of XTM Software Recorder, a major new capability that enables multilingual software video generation at scale.

Software Recorder brings two of XTM’s core products, Rigi and Video Creation Cloud, together for the first time, giving enterprises a way to capture the steps of the recording process once, instead of having to do it separately for every language.

The launch positions XTM as the only enterprise platform that orchestrates UI capture, video creation, and translation in one integrated pipeline aligned to your documentation.

“Most software videos are out of date the moment UI changes ship, and teams simply can’t keep up,” said Rob Finney, CMO of XTM International. “At the same time, the way people consume information is changing fast. Recent data from the Reuters Institute shows that 65% of global consumers now prefer video-based content.”

“With Software Recorder, enterprises can finally break the re-record cycle. You capture a workflow once, and XTM does the rest, creating, regenerating, and localizing videos at the speed of product development.”

The end of the re-record cycle

Software Recorder replaces the traditional re-record cycle with an intelligent UI capture process. Unlike other solutions on the market, Software Recorder captures mouse activity alongside HTML screens, then automatically replicates that interaction across every localized version of the UI. From there, Video Creation Cloud generates complete videos with localized titles, voiceovers, captions, and subtitles in over 100 languages.

The result is a massive reduction in the total cost of ownership for instructional video. “The simple act of not needing to re-record and edit per language will save at least 60% of your time,” said Wouter Maagdenberg, General Manager, Video Creation Cloud. “For many companies, Software Recorder makes multilingual video production achievable for the first time. For others, it shifts video from a costly and time-consuming effort into a scalable content channel.”

Key capabilities include:

  • Voice-guided recording: Instructions from product docs are converted into a voice-guided checklist overlay, ensuring workflows are captured accurately and consistently.
  • Capture once, localize everywhere: Mouse activity and UI interactions are recorded once and replayed against localized UIs to produce native-language video fragments automatically.
  • Automated video creation: Video Creation Cloud transforms captured workflows into polished videos with effects, captions, subtitles, and AI voiceovers in 100+ languages.
  • Effortless maintenance: When the UI changes, teams update only the affected steps. The system regenerates all multilingual versions automatically.
  • TMS language consistency: Because Software Recorder integrates with your TMS, central terminology management and translation memories ensure consistent language, tone, and terminology across the UI, the video, and its underlying documentation.

One platform for global growth

Software Recorder builds on the composable architecture at the core of the XTM platform. Each product, from Rigi and Video Creation Cloud to XTM Cloud and Transifex, delivers value independently, but when combined they unlock capabilities no single tool can offer.

This release brings UI capture, video creation, and translation together into one connected capability, reinforcing XTM’s vision of a single platform where enterprises manage global content across every language and market. The launch follows the recent releases of XTM Agent and Intelligent Post-Editing, continuing XTM’s focus on AI, automation and faster execution across the global content lifecycle.

Software Recorder is available as part of a combined Rigi and Video Creation Cloud package, with discounts for existing XTM Cloud, Transifex and Rigi customers.

The Week in Review March 3-9

This week’s stories reveal an industry leaning hard into integration — not just of tools, but of people, workflows, and disciplines. From enterprise AI partnerships reshaping global content operations to community‑driven events exploring co‑creation, multilingual work is becoming more interconnected, more operationally embedded, and more strategically central. The result is a landscape where language access is no longer an add‑on but a core component of how organizations collaborate, comply, and compete.

Product Expansion

Wordly has introduced an upgraded, AI-generated live caption feature for the Microsoft Teams interface, allowing employees to follow meetings in their preferred language through a simple browser link. The update is designed for everyday cross‑regional collaboration, offering speaker‑identified transcripts, accessibility‑focused captioning, enterprise‑grade security, and access to Wordly’s broader accuracy tools like customizable glossaries. By extending its recent Workspaces rollout into routine meetings, Wordly positions its Teams integration as a lightweight way for global organizations to accelerate decisionmaking without adding technical overhead or new workflows.

Boostlingo has expanded its integration with athenahealth by embedding medical‑interpreter access directly inside athenaTelehealth, enabling clinicians to launch qualified interpreters from the patient chart without leaving the EHR. The update streamlines virtual‑care workflows by eliminating manual dial‑outs, introducing real‑time routing, and automatically writing call data and documentation back into the patient record for compliance, billing accuracy, and audit readiness. For health systems, the integration standardizes language‑access operations across departments, strengthens Title VI and Section 1557 compliance, and provides clearer visibility into interpreter utilization and spend.

XTM and Vistatec have launched a joint enterprise AI globalization offering that combines XTM’s SaaS platform with Vistatec’s implementation, governance, and optimization services, helping organizations operationalize AI‑driven global content at scale. The partnership provides an end‑to‑end operating model covering intake, governance, execution, quality control, and reporting, addressing the fragmentation that often arises when AI tools are adopted independently across departments.
