TransPerfect Life Sciences — TransPerfect’s branch specializing in aiding the development of healthcare solutions — announced Dec. 6 that the company has acquired LMK Clinical Research Consulting, another company providing services to companies working in the life sciences industry.
As with many of its other acquisitions, TransPerfect did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition, however it should be noted that TransPerfect is widely considered to be the largest language service provider in the industry, and its recent acquisitions are evidence that the company continues to grow. TransPerfect Life Sciences and LMK Clinical Research Consulting both offer trial master file (TMF) management services.
“Joining TransPerfect is an exciting move,” said Sholeh Ehdaivand, founder of LMK Clinical Research Consulting. “This creates a team of two TMF authorities that offer complementary services and benefits.”
Ehdaivand founded LMK Clinical Research Consulting in 2013 in North Carolina. TransPerfect noted that the company has since grown to become a leader in TMF services. TMFs refer to the documents produced and collected during the process of a clinical trial — they must be developed according to the regulations in a given jurisdiction, and are used, not only to evaluate the efficacy of the product being tested, but also to ensure that the research body conducting the trial adheres to the proper regulations.
LMK Clinical Research Consulting has also founded TMF University, an accredited program that trains individuals in the field of TMF management.

TransPerfect Life Sciences specifically provides support and services to biopharmaceutical companies across the globe that are working on clinical trials for new medical treatments and devices. Although the company already provides TMF-related services, the acquisition of LMK Clinical Research Consulting should allow the company to further expand its ability to help companies with TMF management.
