The Department of Languages & Cultures at Utah Valley University (UVU) is excited to host this in-person career-centered event to give students and language industry professionals the chance to mingle, share, and make connections. Several language service providers, industry associations — such as the Utah Translators and Interpreters Association — and representatives from the military will be in attendance. All students and professionals throughout Utah are welcome!
The event will be held Wednesday, March 22, in room 510 of the Clarke Building on the UVU Orem, Utah campus. We will start at 12:00 p.m. with two panels and one speaker, featuring, among others, Adam Wooten from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey; David Utrilla, CEO of U.S. Translation Company; Cody Simonsen of 5 Star Interpreting; Tia Oniani from Straker and Women in Localization; and Angie Spurgeon from Utah Valley University.
The panels and talks will go from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. (recording will be available afterward), and the rest of the event will be an open-floor career fair. If you’re in the area, come enjoy some food, listen to the panels, and talk with industry professionals. If not, watch the recording after the event. All details and updates, including a link to the recording, will be published on UVU’s translation and interpreting program webpage.
