At some point, we all need to hit pause
Sometimes, we all reach a point where our minds need a break. Not because we’ve run out of motivation or caffeine, but because being a woman in a demanding, global, and always-connected professional environment can be an emotional challenge—one that’s often overlooked.
That’s why Women in Localization has decided to take action with their new Mental Health & Wellness (MH&W) Program, which will officially launch in September 2025 and run through May 2026.
But the initiative is already underway.
What is the program about?
This isn’t just another webinar on goal-setting or a motivational guide filled with simple tips. It’s real support. With weekly sessions, safe spaces, expert-led workshops, and open conversations on topics we all face but don’t always address.
The core idea is simple: no one should have to deal with burnout, anxiety, or the mental strain of balancing work and personal life alone—especially in an ever-changing world.
A Meaningful Start
In March, Women in Localization launched the program with The Successful Woman’s Wake-Up Call, an insightful talk led by Lamiaa Laurene Daif, Growth Strategy Lead at Apple, executive coach, and award-winning speaker.
Lamiaa shared her personal experience with autoimmune illness, discussing how it forced her to reconsider her approach to both work and mental health. Her honesty and vulnerability set the tone for the initiative.
What’s Next?
In May, to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month, W.L. will welcome Lisa Dion, an internationally recognized therapist and founder of the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute. During an open discussion moderated by Ludmila Golovine, they’ll explore how to address everyday mental health challenges with compassion and courage.
From September onwards, the full program will roll out, featuring:
- Workshops on financial stress and managing money-related anxiety
- Tips for working in isolation while avoiding feelings of loneliness
- Building resilience in uncertain times
- Approaches for managing fear in a constructive way
- Strategies to help you celebrate your achievements without guilt or burnout
The program will also cover sensitive topics like grief, work-life balance, and the emotional burden many professionals face but rarely discuss openly.
Who’s Involved?
The program will be guided by a dedicated team of Wellness Ambassadors, including yoga instructors, psychologists, meditation guides, and mindset coaches. They will offer practical advice on everything from breathing exercises to goal-setting and financial well-being.
Safe Spaces: Having Real Conversations
A cornerstone of the program is the Safe Spaces Initiative—confidential, members-only sessions that provide a supportive environment to discuss personal challenges without fear of judgment. These sessions will not be recorded, ensuring privacy and creating a truly safe space for open discussion.
