ELIA’s recent Focus on Executives event on 16-17th May, at Radisson Blu Golden Sands Resort in Malta, was more than just a conference – it was an enriching experience that brought together over 50 executive leaders from the language industry for a deep dive into key topics shaping the future of our field.
“My experience at Focus on Executives was transformative. I walked away with not only new knowledge and strategies to enhance my own executive skills but also a renewed sense of motivation and inspiration. I highly recommend this event to anyone looking to sharpen their leadership acumen and connect with top-notch professionals in the industry.” – Julia Goncharik, WGE Language Consultancy
Robert Martin’s thought-provoking session on client acquisition provided attendees with a practical roadmap for navigating the complexities of business development in today’s fast-paced world. Discussions centred on the importance of niche targeting, defining value propositions, and prioritising client needs. This set the stage for a deeper exploration of company capacity and the significance of focusing on specific client types to drive sustainable growth.
Day two saw Kimberley Harris take the stage, offering powerful insights into the importance of business growth. With a focus on setting goals, facing fears, and embracing change, Harris challenged attendees to push beyond their comfort zones and unlock their full potential – and put this into practice with a spontaneous dance-off! Her approach to leadership energised us individually and collectively, inspired a growth mindset for vision planning, and ignited a passion for achieving new heights in business.
The panel session on Innovative Partnerships: Solutions for Leveraging Technology and Diversifying Services facilitated by Diego Cresceri featured Marija Jestrić of Alkemist, Maii Abdel-Wahab of Arabize, and Diego Mosca of Supertext; who each shared their experiences with partnerships and the potential for growth. It was a thought-provoking session that underscored the importance of collaboration in navigating the complexities of our industry.
But the event wasn’t just about the sessions – it was as much about the connections made and friendships forged during our welcome evening and networking dinners hosted in beautiful locations on the Maltese coast.
“The networking opportunities were unparalleled. I had an opportunity to connect with peers and industry leaders from all over Europe, forming new relationships that have the potential to evolve into significant business partnerships. This truly is the most important aspect of the event. This is what ELIA does – it brings us together so we can be stronger and more resilient.” – Marija Jestric, Alkemist Group
