Language Service Companies are expecting to hire in North America as they look to keep up with a growing industry. The global language services industry was estimated to reach
almost 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. The biggest buyers of these services domestically are the United States government and the healthcare industry. There is also high demand in the courts, retail, customer service, and financial sectors, to name a few.
“The need for talent is increasing within the language industry, and finding the right talent is noted as one of the biggest challenges,” states Susan Amarino, President of the ALC. “ALC Bridge helps language professionals and students alike to identify, explore and land career-oriented jobs in the language services field. College students looking to enter the language industry need a broad set of skills, in addition to language skills, and the ALC is here to help bridge the gap.”
For employers, the platform is completely free, whether or not the employer is a member of the ALC.
Internships offer insight into the myriad roles and opportunities that exist in the language services industry. From Localization project manager to sales in on-site and remote interpreting, plus many job types in between. An internship opportunity with a Language Service Company is an opportunity for students to see if a career in the language services industry is right for them.
