The Power of LinkedIn Newsletters for Language Service Providers

Newsletters are vital communication tools in the language services industry, serving multiple strategic purposes for language service providers (LSPs). As a direct channel between a company and its stakeholders — including clients, potential customers, and established industry professionals — newsletters are powerful marketing and educational tools that keep audiences informed and position businesses as reliable partners in the global marketplace.

LinkedIn has emerged as the best avenue for LSP newsletters, serving as a low-cost growth engine tool for driving higher traffic and revenue in an increasingly competitive industry. LinkedIn newsletters offer multi-faceted delivery options, automatic indexing, and long-form content tools with no paywall — saving time and money while being more targeted than other methods.

How Effective Are LinkedIn Newsletters?

As of January 2025, LinkedIn reached over 1.1 billion users globally, with 67 million of those belonging to company accounts. Currently, there are around 63,000 newsletters on the platform, but only 2% of the top 500 most successful newsletters today belong to companies (rather than individuals). Therefore, LSPs have a perfect opportunity to gain a competitive edge with a first-mover marketing advantage — allowing fast-acting LSPs to dominate visibility in niche service markets that would be otherwise unnoticeable and underrepresented.

Whereas traditional marketing relies on paid visibility, LinkedIn newsletters offer organic reach and direct engagement. Weekly posting on the platform has been shown to double conversion rates. Additionally, 78% of marketers report positive return on investment (ROI) from LinkedIn newsletters. LinkedIn engagement metrics indicate that the average number of subscribers for a single newsletter is around 5,000, or 25% of your total account followers. With a reported 80% of business-to-business (B2B) social media leads coming directly from LinkedIn, and with LinkedIn driving four times more B2B website traffic, LSPs that use LinkedIn newsletters have an unlimited potential for subscriber conversation and open rates.

Multilingual newsletters can achieve even higher numbers. When a LinkedIn newsletter is published in languages other than English (LOTE), not only are conversion and open rates generally higher, but visibility and favorability scores also increase. Currently, an overwhelming 68% of all newsletters on the platform are originally crafted in English, with only 32% published in other critical languages. Therefore, publishing your LSP’s newsletter in other supported languages could help you reach a wider audience and allow you the first-mover advantage over other LSPs.

LinkedIn’s Most Successful LSP Newsletters

While LinkedIn’s newsletter feature is a relatively new marketing channel, as it was only recently launched in 2021, some LSPs have already set the standard for success that other rising businesses in the industry can use as a guide:

  1. The Language Service Associates (LSA) newsletter, LSA Newsletter, has acquired over 31,000 subscribers.
  2. Propio Language Services’ newsletter, called simply Newsletter, has acquired over 22,000 subscribers.
  3. LanguageLine Solutions’ newsletter, LanguageLine Round Up, has amassed over 10,000 subscribers.

All three companies maintain routine monthly publishing. This consistent publication helps with visibility and demonstrates the LSP’s commitment to transparency and client education. All in all, implementing LinkedIn newsletters as a routine marketing practice for your LSP will benefit both your customers and your business by increasing trust and growing revenue opportunities.
