Nimdzi launches ranking of Top 100 LSPs

Nimdzi Insights has just released its long-awaited report ranking the top 100 language service providers by revenue. The report is based on financial and organizational data as of the end of the 2020 fiscal year, which put TransPerfect at the top of the list, followed by Lionbridge, then LanguageLine in third position, SDL in fourth position, and RWS in fifth position. Nimdzi had released the list ranking these companies earlier in the month, and the full report is out for free download now.

Questel acquires Morningside, becoming key player in patent translation

French IP service provider Questel bought Morningside, a patent filing company, this past week. In acquiring Morningside, Questel also receives Net-Translators, whom Morningside acquired back in 2019, which allowed the company to expand to Israel. After their latest acquisition, it is estimated that Questel is now the second largest patent translation provider in the world.

Schreiber Translations hires new managing director

Maryland-based LSP Schreiber Translations hired a new managing director, Christopher Carter, who will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of the company. Previously Carter served as president of the Association of Language Companies, and designed the first database-driven platform for ALC Bridge, which allows student to prepare for future careers in language services.
