MultiLingual Magazine Wins APEX Award for Publication Excellence

The APEX Awards for Publication Excellence — a top awards program for corporate, nonprofit, and independent publishers — has recognized MultiLingual magazine for its high-caliber “graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications effectiveness.”

MultiLingual magazine won in the “Magazines, Journals & Tabloids – Electronic” category for the digital and PDF versions of its December 2023 issue. The winning issue features a profile of Canva’s Michael Levot along with articles reviewing prominent translation management systems and highlighting winners from LocWorld’s Process Innovation Challenge and TAUS’s AI Revolutionary Award.

MultiLingual advisory board member Marjolein Groot Nibbelink, who was publisher of the magazine when the December 2023 issue was released, expressed her pride and gratitude at hearing the news. “It’s taken years of hard work by a young and dynamic team to foster the level of creativity, originality, and information that we present today. The work of a publisher is to recognize and combine the unique talents of our editors and creators, share a vision, and execute on a timeline that seems impossible every day.”

Renato Beninatto, MultiLingual advisory board member and cofounder of MultiLingual’s parent company Nimdzi Insights, remarked, “When we acquired this 30+-year-old magazine three years ago, we made a bet on the value of high-quality content and innovative digital design. Today, we are happy that our commitment to excellence in our digital editions has paid off. Our readers appreciate the accessibility and interactive features that our electronic format offers, reinforcing the unique value of our publication in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.”

Tucker Johnson, also a MultiLingual advisory board member and Nimdzi cofounder, added, “MultiLingual magazine has been a cherished resource for global professionals for two decades. It has been an honor to play a small part by investing in its ongoing improvement. The dedicated and hard-working editorial and design team continues to set the bar ever higher, and I am excited to see where this talented team takes the readers in the years to come.”

The 2024 APEX competition saw more than 1,100 entries, and 439 Awards of Excellence were given in 100 categories. According to an announcement from APEX, “this year’s entries displayed an exceptional level of quality. The APEX judges … had the truly difficult task of selecting the award-winning entries.”

The annual APEX awards program, now in its 36th edition, is sponsored by the Writer’s Web Watch e-newsletter published by Communications Concepts, Inc., a consultant for publishing, public relations, and marketing professionals.
