Zingword begins validating entire translator database

Professional translation services are undergoing a massive paradigm shift. Trust between translation industry stakeholders seems to have been shaken to its core due to the past decades’ practices of decreased payment, lack of security, and the fast pace of the demand versus the long-term strategies needed to ensure reliability between translators and their clients.

In defiance of this trend and in a game-changing move, Zingword has taken a step towards increased trust within the industry, and is now validating all translators featured on the platform. The validation process, conducted in partnership with the Spanish language and data company Ricaris, consists of manual evaluation, ID verification and background checks of the data presented in each translator profile on Zingword. This helps ensure that the platform remains a space of pure professionalism, where translation clients and LSPs can feel confident in their selections without having to question the quality of the service, or the reliability of the provider.

Zingword strives for a single tier of quality in which every translator is a validated professional. Similarly, as the platform moves away from generalized searches into more specific, project-based matching, validation helps guarantee accuracy in search ranking results for clients. It is also a step forward in beginning to fight translation scamming and illegitimate online service offers. Zingword takes reliability and safety seriously, and understands the needs of both translators and clients.

According to Zingword’s CEO Robert Rogge, trust is one of the key factors in getting all sides of the translation industry back on a successful track: “Our goal is to help clients search for their ideal translator candidates and establish trust as quickly as possible. Having a process dedicated solely to ensuring the trustworthiness of translators representing themselves is only the first step, but it is an important one – eliminating scammers and bad-faith actors will help true professionalism shine, clearing the path for the client features we will soon be introducing.”

Ricaris harbors the same philosophy: “As a company that offers multilingual services, quality and trust have always been at the core of Ricaris’ business practices. We were delighted to join Zingword as partners in this process,” says Ricaris’ Marketing and Sales Director, Ricardo Atehortúa. “Their validation strategy ensures ease of access to translators and transparency between the two sides of the equation, which can only benefit the industry as a whole.”
